  • A fallen cross now marks the mausoleum of August J. Jenevein at the Lafayette Cemetery  #2 in the Garden District of New Orleans.  Many of the above ground mausoleums unique to New Orleans have sustained considerable damage including shattered marble facades leaving the contents open, crosses and other religious icons tossed around due to the high winds and water of Hurricane Katrina.
